Jack Nicholson plays Warren Schmidt, a retired widower wondering exactly where his life went. When his daughter announces she's getting married to her salesman fiancé (Dermot Mulroney complete with Mullet) of whom he does not improve, he sets out across America planning to sabotage the relationship. With lots of black humour, buckets of pathos and Nicholson putting in a genuine and fantastic performance as a cantankerous old goat, this film is a fantastically slanted look on the horrors of old age. Quality filmmaking.
